EU road
DDP is almost always the right answer for retailers in the EU. The all-in cost is within €0.40/unit of FOB, and the paperwork burden moves to us — where we already have a customs broker on retainer.
US air
DAP wins for orders under 200 kg. DDP wins above that, once the brokerage fee gets amortised. FOB only makes sense if your forwarder beats ours by more than 8%.
GCC
DDP. Every time. The customs side in Dubai and Riyadh moves faster when an Italian sender is named-of-record.
